Home 9 Parking Services 9 ITV (Vehicle Inspection)

Pre-ITV inspection while your car is parked.

In our parking facility, we offer the convenience of arranging a pre-vehicle inspection (ITV) where we can promptly inform you if your car meets the requirements to pass the ITV. This step is essential to avoid inconveniences and the need to take your car to a mechanic.

The primary goal of the ITV inspection is to verify that the overall condition of the vehicle and its safety elements are in an acceptable state of maintenance, ensuring that the vehicle can circulate without posing a danger to occupants and other road users. This is of utmost importance.

During the ITV inspection, the technical criteria established in the “Inspection Procedure Manual for ITV Stations” are followed. By undergoing the ITV through OkParking, you can keep your vehicle up to date with the technical inspection and receive the best service. This way, you ensure that your car meets the required safety standards.

During the ITV inspection, exhaustive checks are performed on the following aspects of your vehicle:

  • Lights and signaling systems.
  • Tires and axles.
  • Service brakes and wheel alignment.
  • Parking brake effectiveness and balance, as well as suspensions.
  • Steering mechanism and brake circuit.
  • Exhaust gas pollution control and noise level.
  • Vehicle body and chassis condition.
  • Windshield, mirrors, rear-view mirrors, and cleaning and wiping devices.
  • License plates and identification labels.

DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED TO PASS THE ITV To pass the ITV, you need to have the corresponding documentation. In case of loss or theft of the vehicle’s documents, you must request a duplicate ITV card at an ITV station. For this, you need to provide the following documentation:

  • ID card of the vehicle owner (along with the technical data sheet).
  • Original circulation permit or, if not possible, a vehicle report issued by the Provincial Traffic Headquarters or processed through an authorized agency (as an alternative to the circulation permit).

It’s important to have all the necessary documentation to ensure a successful inspection and comply with the established legal requirements.

We also offer homologation services for tow hitches or trailer couplings. If the tow hitch has a European approval code and is properly approved for the specific vehicle, you need to process a hitch legalization dossier, providing the following documentation:

  • Mounting instructions manual provided by the hitch manufacturer.
  • Certificate issued by the workshop that installed the hitch.
  • Compliance report.

If the hitch is not approved for the specific vehicle, it will be necessary to submit a reform legalization dossier. For detailed information about the required documentation in this case, we recommend getting in touch with an ITV station.

If you wish to change the size of your tires, it’s important to follow our instructions carefully:

The selected tires must be approved and comply with the dimensions, characteristics, and configuration established by the vehicle manufacturer in the vehicle’s approval or its equivalents.

You can use the tires indicated on the ITV card or those considered equivalent according to the following criteria:

  • The load capacity index must be equal to or higher than the minimums indicated on the ITV card or in the type approval.
  • The speed category must be equal to or higher than the minimums indicated on the ITV card or in the type approval.
  • The outer diameter must be equal, with a maximum tolerance of 3%.
  • The rim profile must match the selected tire.

It’s important to consider some relevant observations:

  • There should be no interference between the tire and other parts of the vehicle.
  • The maximum variation in track width must not exceed 30 mm.
  • The vehicle’s mudguards must completely cover the tire width.
  • It’s essential to respect the tire manufacturer’s specified direction of rotation.
